Stephanie Hans delivers a vertigo-inducing cover for this penultimate chapter of Gillen, Hans, and Cowles's darkly imaginative RPG fantasy series — a solitary figure falls headfirst through a column of deep crimson, framed by massive disembodied hands and the series' stark geometric logo. The composition is unsettling and elegant in equal measure, with that blood-red descent feeling like a surrender to gravity and fate simultaneously. "Lines & Veils" promises the kind of emotionally charged storytelling that has made Die one of 2021's most compelling reads.
