Dick Wingate of the United States Navy #1

Dick Wingate, a Navy electronics expert stationed in Malibu, is assigned to install a secret gadget in a test plane. After receiving orders to proceed with the test, Wingate works on the installation while his shipmate Mike stays behind at the base. Later, detectives arrive investigating a fisherman's suspicious death that occurred that morning, and Wingate becomes entangled in the mystery while trying to complete his assigned report on the test by morning.
