Acres goes to Heels' hotel room and finds him laughing insanely about the trap he set for Dick Tracy. Acres forces Beals into a cab with her, and they head for Tracy's apartment. Even as they travel, Pat and The Chief make it to Tracy's apartment in time to save him from the razor-sharp fan blades. On the way to the apartment, Beels stabs the driver with a hatpin he's taken from Acres. The driver crashes. Acres is only slightly injured, but the driver is seriously injured. Beals flees the scene and searches for a hiding place.
