Dexter Down Under #5

The penultimate chapter of Jeff Lindsay's Australian crime miniseries arrives with one of its most disarmingly charming images: a man cradling a koala against his chest while red laser-sight beams crisscross them both — cute and ominous in equal measure. Michael Del Mundo's painted cover captures that tension beautifully, pairing eucalyptus-green surroundings with the unmistakable suggestion that someone, somewhere, has a very bad plan for this unlikely duo. With interior art by Dalibor Talajić and colors by Rainier Beredo, this 2014 Marvel series continues to show that taking Miami's favorite blood-spatter analyst Down Under was a very inspired idea.
