Destination Moon #1

A team of astronauts led by Professor Charles Cargraves receives government approval to launch a rocket to the moon despite initial safety concerns from the Commission of Rocket Experimentation. The crew members experience space sickness during flight but are treated with special pills, and they successfully establish contact with Earth via radio. After landing on the moon's barren surface, Professor Cargraves becomes the first human to set foot on the lunar world, claiming it for the United States, while the team conducts observations and photography of the desolate moonscape before preparing for their return journey.
