Dessins impertinents #3

From Belgian cartoonist Sondron comes this third volume of Dessins impertinents, cheekily titled Hakuna Matata — and the cover makes no secret of its satirical spirit. Set against a blazing red-orange sky, the scene parodies the iconic Pride Rock moment with caricatured human figures lounging atop the cliff: a tuxedoed man, a bejeweled character, a blonde, and a lion-maned figure, while a wild-haired, scowling face peers up from below, clearly less than thrilled with the arrangement. Published by Éditions Luc Pire in 2013, it's a warm invitation to sharp-edged, irreverent humor delivered with a confident cartoon hand.
