Jay Anacleto's painted-style cover for this 2013 Dynamite series captures a tense, visually striking scene: a massive, tusked Green Man of Mars looms over a kneeling Dejah Thoris, his glowing red eyes and crossed spears framing the captive princess of Helium in her ornate golden armor. The composition does a remarkable job of conveying both the raw physical menace of the towering Martian warrior and the dignified composure of Dejah Thoris herself, weapons in hand even in a moment of vulnerability.
