Defiance #3

Part three of "The Messenger" arc arrives with a striking Image Comics cover featuring a red-haired woman in dark, tattered armor seated before a massive, spike-adorned sword rising behind her — the tagline promising that even the Devil must contend with forces beyond his control. Her expression is quietly intense, the ornate stone surroundings lending the scene a gothic, otherworldly weight. Comic Buyer's Guide called it "a wickedly cool cast of characters," and this 2002 issue makes a strong case for exactly that.
