Alex Saviuk and Fred Fredericks pack the composition with the entire Defenders lineup — the Phantom crouching in his purple suit, a top-hat-wearing Mandrake channeling a burst of glowing energy, Flash Gordon, Lothar, and several younger team members all reacting with wide-eyed intensity to the clash at center stage. With Michael Higgins writing the interior story "Family Honor" and the same Saviuk/Fredericks team bringing the art, this third issue looks like a genuinely compelling chapter for fans of the beloved animated team.
