“Deathstroke: R.I.P., Book Two: The Seven Doors”

Part of DC's 2019 "Year of the Villain: Dark Gifts" event, this issue promises a reckoning as the cover's tagline — "Judged by Jericho!" — sets an ominous tone. Carlo Pagulayan and Norm Rapmund deliver a striking image: a glowing, airborne figure clutching what appears to be a torn mask rises above a vast crowd of people whose eyes burn with an eerie white light, while three sinister faces loom across the top of the cover. Writer Priest, artist Fernando Pasarin, inker Cam Smith, and colorist Jeromy Cox continue "Deathstroke: R.I.P., Book Two: The Seven Doors," and the sense of a man surrounded — and outnumbered — is palpable even before you turn a single page.
