The finale of Deadpool's Art of War closes out with one of the cheekiest covers of 2015 — a loving riff on Hokusai's "The Great Wave," with Deadpool himself surfing a red board along the crest of that towering, churning swell while traditional wooden boats bob helplessly below. Scott Koblish's artwork brilliantly merges ukiyo-e aesthetics with Wade Wilson's trademark irreverence, and Val Staples's coloring keeps the muted, woodblock-print palette perfectly intact.
