Deadpool / GLI - Summer Fun Spectacular #1

A sun-soaked beach scene sets the stage for this 2007 Marvel one-shot, where Deadpool — in full costume, naturally — creates gleeful chaos on the shoreline while Squirrel Girl, Flatman, and the rest of the Great Lakes Initiative attempt to enjoy a perfectly reasonable summer vacation. Squirrels scatter across the sand, seagulls take flight in alarm, and someone is already airborne in the background, which tells you everything you need to know about the tone here. Writers Dan Slott and Fabian Nicieza team up with artists Paul Pelletier and Kieron Dwyer for what promises to be one of Marvel's more cheerfully unhinged team-ups of the year.
