Deadpool #54
The boldly stark design of this 2012 Marvel issue makes clever use of negative space, shrinking Deadpool down to a small, warmly lit vignette at the bottom — a genuinely clever visual joke from cover artist Dave Johnson. In that narrow strip, Wade Wilson lounges in full red suit, casually reading a book by flashlight amid a cluttered hideout, looking remarkably relaxed for a man in the middle of an arc called "Dead Part Five." Daniel Way and Alé Garza bring their run to this penultimate chapter with a cover that says a lot about Deadpool's irreverent attitude without saying a word.

Now that Deadpool's healing factor has been negated and he has recovered his roguish good looks, he finds that he has never felt more alive and doesn't really want to die anymore. Unfortunately, Tombstone and X-Force are all still trying their best to kill him.
