Four issues into this six-part DC series, Neal Adams delivers a cover that stops you cold — a massive, luminous green figure throws its head back in a silent (or perhaps very loud) scream, its glowing eyes and cavernous mouth radiating an eerie supernatural energy, while a pair of shadowy hands reach toward it from the foreground. The contrast between that ghostly green radiance and the darker, grasping hands below sets an unmistakably tense, otherworldly tone perfectly suited to "Deadmen Tell No Tales!" Adams handles every aspect of the art here, and his command of dramatic perspective makes this image genuinely hard to look away from.
