A grocer is found murdered in his store, and his wife, taken to a hospital, survives long enough to identify her attacker as Juan Fernandez, a patient of Dr. French whose grave had been opened in the cemetery. When another man named Kent Cavandish dies under mysterious circumstances, his body becomes animated by the malevolent spirit of George Bacon, forcing Kent's spirit to battle the possessed corpse through a hospital and corridor while Dr. French and others attempt to stop the supernatural menace. The issue culminates in a supernatural struggle as the living and dead collide in a desperate effort to contain the evil force that has escaped from beyond the grave.
