Dead Space #1

Ben Templesmith's cover for this opening chapter of the six-issue series sets the tone immediately — a grotesquely mutated, blood-drenched human head dominates the frame, its lower face erupting with writhing tentacles in deep crimson and burnt amber. Antony Johnston and Templesmith clearly have something visceral and unsettling in store, and that hauntingly painted image lingers well after you set the issue down.
