This Dark Horse series keeps its unsettling grip firmly in place with issue four, and the cover makes a strong case for why. From a vertiginous bird's-eye angle, a mall escalator is packed wall-to-wall with fleshy, grotesque figures — a "wet floor" caution sign and scattered debris on the tile below adding an eerie mundane detail to the horror. Adam Cesare, David Stoll, and Justin Birch have built something genuinely creepy here, wrapping consumer-culture dread in a package that's hard to look away from.
