This issue contains multiple Western stories. One tale follows a confrontation at the Spread Eagle saloon involving the tough Brazos Kid, where a man in a yellow hat becomes involved in a tense standoff. Another story depicts Oliver Stokes and his wife Alice on their wheat farm, where Oliver plans to use fertilizer purchased with borrowed money from a man named Turtle to grow a bumper crop and repay his debt, but their wheat field mysteriously catches fire the night before harvest, leaving Oliver ruined. A third story features a stagecoach driver who accepts a job transporting gold shipments through Plague Swamp with a companion, only to plan a robbery scheme by caching the gold in the swamp and claiming they were robbed on an alternate trail.
