Volume 3 of Shizumu Watanabe's Dead Account arrives with a cover that perfectly captures the series' blend of gothic edge and grotesque horror: a purple-haired girl in a dark green ensemble strides forward, mouth wide open in a shout or scream, while a fleshy, multi-eyed creature writhes and coils around her arm. The contrast between her stylish choker, chain-linked belt bag, and the visceral, tendril-like monster makes for a genuinely unsettling yet visually striking image.
