Season 2 of De zang van de vampiers kicks off with "Ontmoetingen" ("Encounters"), and Richard Guérineau's cover sets a brooding, atmospheric tone perfectly suited to 2008's vampire-thriller landscape. A black-clad woman in sunglasses holds a pistol with cool authority while a scruffy man in a leather jacket stands nearby on a ridge, an industrial skyline smoldering in the distance behind them — and looming over it all, a mysterious woman's face materializes ghostlike from the stormy sky. Corbeyran and Guérineau clearly have big, moody things in store for this second season.
