De verbijsterende Hulk Special #32
"Tranen van staal" delivers a raw, character-driven moment in the Hulk’s saga, with Peter David and Joost Timp crafting a story that lingers in the desert heat and the weight of unresolved pasts. Jeff Purves’ dynamic art, sharpened by Marie Severin’s inks and Glynis Oliver’s subtle colors, brings emotional intensity to Bruce Banner’s quiet struggle at a nuclear testing facility, where a chance encounter with scientist Phil Sterns deepens the tension. When Marlo’s arrival turns perilous—thanks to a surprise attack by the Werewolf by Night—Hulk’s protective instincts clash with his own fragile peace, leading to a breakup that feels earned, not forced. The cover by Jeff Purves and Bob McLeod captures the moment with haunting stillness, a stark contrast to the chaos within.
