Created by Bart Vantieghem and Koen De Brabander, this third volume in the Belgian Dictator Dirk series opens with a wonderfully absurd split-scene cover: above the waterline, a rowboat packed with a motley, scheming crowd rows frantically away; below, a hapless pink figure — presumably Dirk himself — is tied up and weighed down by a concrete block, sinking into the deep blue. It's a delightfully deadpan setup that promises the same irreverent humor fans of the series have come to love. Published by Bonte in 2021, this album looks like another gleefully chaotic chapter in Dirk's spectacularly unfortunate adventures.
