The cover of this third chapter in DC's 2008 five-issue Raven special tells its own unsettling story: a hooded, wide-eyed Raven is surrounded and clutched by grotesque, yellow-skinned figures with clawing hands and distorted faces, all swirling against a dizzying purple vortex — and the tagline "Friends or… Foes?" leaves the answer deliberately open. Damion Scott and Robert Campanella's cover art leans into surreal, fluid linework that gives the threat an almost dreamlike menace.
