DC Special: Cyborg #5

The penultimate chapter of "Rage Against the Machine" arrives with a cover that delivers exactly what the title promises — Cyborg locked in fierce, close-quarters combat with Cyborg 2.0, the two mechanically enhanced figures grappling amid a rocky, rubble-strewn backdrop. Mike McKone's pencils and Marlo Alquiza's inks bring real kinetic energy to the clash, with glowing cannons, chrome plating, and orange-accented machinery making it genuinely difficult to tell where one combatant ends and the other begins. Mark Sable and Carlos Magno's five-issue-deep series hits a dramatic high point here, and this 2008 DC Special is a satisfying chapter in a story with some serious mechanical muscle behind it.
