Kyle battles Nero for control of the awesome and full power of the Green Lantern. Once victorious, Kyle is given a choice by the Spectre (his Green Lantern predecessor, Hal Jordan) to either go back in time and refuse the ring that Ganthet offered to him or to embrace this new power and all of the changes it entails. Kyle transforms from Green Lantern into Ion and now wields power greater than both Oblivion and Parallax.
