Dienstmagd Tjiung-hua, die wegen der an ihr verübten Grausamkeiten Rache im Herzen hegt, aus dem Haus des Gutsbesitzers Nan Ba-tiän entflieht und mit Hilfe des Kaders der Roten Armee Hung Tschang-tjing in die Rote Frauenarmee eintritt. Später findet Tschang-tjing bei der Rückendeckung der sich zurückziehenden Hauptstreitkräfte den Heldentod, und Tjiung-hua übernimmt die Last der unerfüllten Aufgaben des Gefallenen und führt ihre Gruppe bei einem Gegenangriff der Hauptstreitkräfte der Roten Armee. Mit eigenen Händen tötet sie schließlich Nan Ba-tiän.
