Darth Vader #20
The "End of Games" arc kicks off here in Star Wars: Darth Vader #20, and Mark Brooks' cover sets an immediately commanding tone — Darth Vader stands at the fore in full armor, while behind him the Emperor crackles with Force lightning, flanked on all sides by the crimson-robed Imperial Royal Guard against a star-filled backdrop. It's a portrait of the Empire's darkest power concentrated in one frame, with writer Kieron Gillen and artist Salvador Larroca bringing the "Shu-Torun War" storyline to what promises to be a gripping conclusion. A genuinely striking issue from 2016 that captures the Sith hierarchy at its most formidable.
