Darkhawk #40 brings "Amulet Quest Part Three: Death Deal" to a fever pitch, with the armored hero looming large above a screaming young man as a starburst of energy erupts from Darkhawk's chest amulet, surrounded by an array of weapons. Tod Smith and Ian Akin's cover crackles with tension — that glowing, gem-centered explosion at the heart of the image makes it immediately clear the amulet itself is very much at the center of the conflict.
