Dark Horse Presents #116 spotlights Fat Dog Mendoza, and Scott Musgrove's cover makes the pitch perfectly clear: a rotund, wide-mouthed cartoon bulldog stretches open his own jaws to reveal rows of enormous teeth, with the deadpan caption "SEE? I'M HUNGRY." reading below him. Musgrove handles every aspect of the cover himself — pencils, inks, and all — giving the image a wonderfully grotesque, rubbery personality that's equal parts funny and unsettling. Rounding out the issue are two additional strips, "Trypto the Acid Dog" by Murry, Ferrer, and Leialoha, and "Dr. Spin" by Rennie and Langridge, making this a satisfying anthology package from Dark Horse's decade-strong anthology flagship.
