“Killers on the Bounce”

"Killers on the Bounce" kicks off with Jake and Lil, a pair of circus performers whose seemingly playful act hides a deadly scheme—using light-sensitive gas-filled rubber balls to target the children of the wealthy, then striking while the families are distracted. Penciled and inked by Stan Asch, the story unfolds with a tight, suspenseful rhythm, while Ross Andru and Mike Esposito deliver a striking cover that captures the duo’s eerie charm. A 12-cent comic from 1963, this issue blends circus flair with a chilling twist.

Jake and Lil are a couple of circus performers with a penchant for crime. They give seemingly innocent rubber balls to the children of wealthy parents, but the balls are filled with deadly gass that gets released when the balls are exposed to light and they use that time to swoop in and steal from the rich folk.
