“Book Six: The Final Bell”

Tim Sale's cover for this concluding chapter of Daredevil: Yellow is a beautifully melancholic composition — a suited Matt Murdock walks with a young blonde woman along a city waterfront, a yellow flag billowing overhead, while a towering vision of Daredevil looms over the New York skyline in shades of red and shadow. Jeph Loeb and Sale close out their noir-tinged love letter to the Man Without Fear with "The Final Bell," and this image carries all the bittersweet weight that title implies. A fitting send-off to one of 2002's most heartfelt Marvel stories.
