Part of Joe Hill's Hill House Comics imprint under DC Black Label, Daphne Byrne #4 continues Laura Marks and Kelley Jones's unsettling horror series with a cover by Sam Wolfe Connelly that stops you cold. A conjoined skeleton — two skulls fused at the top of a single small frame — is sealed within a glass bell jar or reliquary, rendered in dim, ghostly tones against a smoky dark background, the image managing to feel both clinical and deeply wrong. Michelle Madsen's coloring wraps the whole thing in murky purples and amber, and the issue also includes chapter twenty-one of Sea Dogs for good measure.
