Volume 3 of Yasunobu Yamauchi's slice-of-life comedy finds three high school boys hanging out in an empty classroom — one perched on a desk with easy confidence, one standing tall in his uniform, and a shorter blonde classmate looking a little put-upon, which feels entirely on-brand for this series. The subtitle Daily Lives of High School Boys says it all: the humor here lives in the unheroic, wonderfully mundane rhythms of ordinary teenage life. If the first two volumes charmed you, the relaxed classroom setting on this cover promises more of the same good-natured absurdity.
