Danger Girl #2

The second issue of Image's Danger Girl arrives in May 1998 with a cover by J. Scott Campbell and Alex Garner that's as playful as it is eye-catching — the series' blonde protagonist reclines in a frothy bubble bath, cool smile on her face and a pistol casually in hand, while classical stone cherub figures look on from the ornate surroundings. It's the kind of cover that perfectly captures the book's breezy spy-adventure tone: glamorous, a little cheeky, and just dangerous enough. With Campbell and Andy Hartnell's "Dangerous Liaisons" inside, this WildStorm/Cliffhanger! title was clearly having a great time carving out its own stylish corner of the late-'90s comics landscape.
