Damsels #3

Dynamite's Damsels #3 brings a charged, fairy-tale-gone-dark energy to this 2012 series, with a cover by Joseph Michael Linsner that's hard to look away from. A red-haired, tattooed woman in a corset and rolled sleeves spins on guard, her expression caught between defiance and alarm as a massive demonic shadow — clawed hands spread wide — looms behind her on the wall. Linsner's rich, moody coloring gives the scene real tension, promising a series where the women at the center are anything but passive.
