"Dakota Lil" follows a woman singer performing in a saloon who becomes entangled with a gang of outlaws after one of them, Logan, is shot and killed during a poker game. When the gang discovers a forged I.O.U. signed by Logan, they kidnap Lil to force her to help them track down the document's origin and clear their names. As the story progresses, Lil navigates between the outlaws and the law, ultimately revealing her real name is Tom Horn and proposing a deal to help resolve the gang's troubles while staying ahead of capture.
