Dæmonen #18
In "Der vil komme en gladiator," a wealthy man's obsession with an enchanted mirror leads to a chilling twist of fate. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Steve Ditko, this 1967 Dæmonen issue sees a man use the mirror to trap those he dislikes—only to find himself trapped within it when his final wish backfires. The cover, by John Romita and Frank Giacoia, captures the eerie moment just before the mirror's curse takes hold.
In "Der vil komme en gladiator," a costume store owner named Jo dons a Daredevil suit not for justice, but to prove a point—clothes, he believes, make the man. When his friend Foggy, the tubby lawyer, borrows the costume for a staged fight to impress Karen, the plan spirals as the self-proclaimed Gladiator takes the act too far. Now, in the thick of a foggy night, Matt Murdock must step in to protect his friend, while the city watches in confusion—was it Foggy in the red suit all along?
In "...farezone..!", a space patrol stumbles upon a planet veiled in an eerie mist, only to be fired upon by its wary inhabitants. As they prepare to strike back, they come to a chilling realization: the alien defenses were meant to protect them from the very danger surrounding the world.
In "Manden i spejlet...", a wealthy man’s obsession with an enchanted mirror leads him to trap everyone he dislikes inside its glass—until the IRS comes knocking. Faced with the absurdity of wishing away every official, he makes one final, desperate wish: to be left in peace. What he gets instead is a chilling, solitary reflection—no one to torment, no one to see, just himself, trapped forever in the very mirror he once used to escape the world.
