Dæmonen #1 (1967) introduces a young lawyer named Matt Murdock, whose life changes after a tragic accident leaves him blind—yet grants him heightened senses that make him a formidable force in the shadows. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Bill Everett, with inking by Everett, Steve Ditko, and Sol Brodsky, the story follows Matt as he channels his grief and rage into becoming the masked vigilante known as Daredevil. The cover by Jack Kirby and Bill Everett captures the intensity of his origin, setting the stage for a gritty, personal crusade against the man responsible for his father’s death.
