Three figures locked in a tense, battle-worn standoff dominate Alexander Lozano's richly painted cover — a visor-wearing young Cyclops braces alongside a blue-bandanna-clad brawler while a massive, white-bearded figure looms ominously behind them, all set against a smoldering orange sky. The painterly atmosphere gives the whole scene a gritty, space-western feel that suits this corner of the Marvel cosmos perfectly. John Layman and Javier Garrón's 2015 run continues to deliver rough-edged adventure, and this ninth issue looks like it puts Scott Summers squarely in the middle of some very dangerous company.
