DC's Helix imprint had a knack for the weird and wonderful, and this May 1997 issue of Cyberella delivers a cover that's hard to look away from. Don Cameron's pencils and inks present a small, wide-eyed alien crouching in the foreground — wearing a baseball cap labeled "RELLA" — while a thought-bubble overhead swirls with visions of Area 51, a glowing extraterrestrial armed with a ray gun, searchlights, and soldiers on alert. It's a quietly funny, visually inventive image that captures the series' offbeat blend of sci-fi strangeness and oddly personal stakes.
