Curse Words #21

Charles Soule and Ryan Browne's irreverent Image series reaches its 21st issue, and the cover pulls absolutely no punches — a blood-drenched, hollow-skulled figure looms in the foreground while two wary characters flank it, one winged and grimacing, the other hooded and wide-eyed, both seemingly bracing for whatever grotesque thing comes next. Ryan Browne's line work and colors make the cascading crimson gore feel almost gleefully over-the-top against the cool blue tones of the cast.
