About this Collection

This first volume of the Curé-la-Flûte series collects the opening chapters of a French Western comic set in the late 19th century, following the adventures of a wandering gunslinger known as Curé-la-Flûte. Titled 'Marché noir et bottes à clous' ('Black Market and Nailed Boots'), the story introduces the protagonist's gritty encounters in a lawless frontier town. The volume was published by Soleil in 1988, launching the series created by writer Jean-Claude Bartoll and artist Jean-François Biard.
