“The One Who Hated Love!”

Cupid #1 (1949) kicks off with a heartfelt twist on romance in "The One Who Hated Love!"—a story drawn by Mike Sekowsky that follows Maude, a woman hired to care for Mrs. Wyatt, and her unexpected connection with the politician Jeff. As Maude’s feelings grow, she grapples with the shadow of Jeff’s past, only to learn the truth behind his estrangement from Gloria, whose memory he’d wrongly held onto. A tender, character-driven tale of second chances, told with quiet emotional depth.
