Jonathan Wayshak's cover for this fifth and final chapter of Bad Idea's Cul-de-Sac is a genuinely unsettling piece of work — a massive, discolored hand thrusts upward from a dark void while a chaotic swarm of grotesque, screaming figures, armed combatants, and monstrous faces press in from every angle around it. The raw pencil-and-ink texture Wayshak brings to every inch of the image gives it the feel of a nightmare rendered with meticulous craft. Mike Carey's story reaches its conclusion here, and this cover signals that the tension has nowhere left to go but up.
