The cover of this Dynamite Entertainment tie-in to AMC's Comic Book Men takes a wonderfully offbeat approach — a child's crayon drawing of the monstrous, hairy Cryptozoic Man (complete with a green dinosaur-like creature beside him) sprawls across a sheet of paper surrounded by real-world objects: a cup of coffee, a cookie, loose crayons, and a pink piggy bank. The handwritten text on the drawing reads "My Daddy Loves Me Because…" and "He Killed the Monsters Who Killed God," lending the whole scene an unexpectedly poignant, almost eerie charm. Issue #4 of this 2014 series proves the creative team wasn't afraid to have some real fun with its presentation.

writer Bryan Johnson · production Chris Caniano · inker Christopher Ivy · editor Hannah Gorfinkel Elder · editor Joseph Rybandt · letterer Marshall Dillon · editor Molly Mahan · penciller, cover Walt Flanagan · colorist Wayne Jansen
