Croquemitaines #2
The second volume of Croquemitaines from Glénat delivers a genuinely unsettling image: a lone child stands in a foggy, lamp-lit street while a massive, winged creature with blazing red eyes looms over them from above, its clawed form dominating the night sky. Salvia and Djet craft a cover that balances vulnerability and dread beautifully, the small figure below feeling both brave and terrifyingly exposed. If the 2017 French horror-fantasy scene was looking for a series with real atmosphere, this second book makes a strong case for itself.
