Crime Detective Comics #5

This anthology issue contains at least two stories: the lead story follows detective Trask as he infiltrates a criminal operation run by Joel Himber, who uses trucks hijacked from Arnold Queen to plan elaborate heists, eventually arranging a lucrative job in New Jersey involving beer bottle manufacturing as a front for criminal activity. A second story features police investigating a diamond smuggling ring operating through the Green Parrot Cafe on the waterfront, with an undercover F.B.I. agent named Jenson working to crack the case from the inside and eventually apprehending a tough seaman named Donnelly. A third text story recounts the rise and fall of criminal mastermind Leslie, who becomes a bank robbery consultant and amasses millions through his underworld connections before being betrayed and killed by his associate Big Tom in San Francisco.
