"Obey the Law" tells of a corrupt coach named Kulaski who runs a hockey team as a front for various criminal enterprises, including fixing games, horse racing, and auto racing, while skimming money from his players' paychecks. When a young man is shot and killed during a bungled car theft, Sergeant Todman discovers the victim was being coerced into criminal activity by Kulaski. Working with detectives Carson and Marmon, Todman uncovers evidence linking items found at the crime scene to Kulaski's operations, and the detective squad moves to arrest him and his associates. The story concludes with the criminals being apprehended and brought to justice.
