Sanjulian's painted cover for this Dark Horse collection says everything about why Creepy Comics earned its tagline — "The Finest in Illustrated Horror." A skeletal, cloaked figure looms before a glowing red doorway as a desperate, decaying man reaches outward, while rotting zombies claw and lurch from the misty foreground in every direction. Subtitled At Death's Door, this 2013 volume is a vivid reminder that illustrated horror, rendered with this much painterly atmosphere and dread, never really goes out of style.
