In Crater XV #nn, Kevin Cannon delivers a tightly wound, character-driven sci-fi mystery where the line between memory and mission blurs. As Barty and Stwalley probe Sztab’s motives, fragmented recollections from Army Shanks and a desperate attempt by Molniya to contact the dead weave into a tense, atmospheric narrative. With the mission’s true purpose unfolding in quiet, devastating detail, the crew faces a reckoning that’s as much about lost dreams as it is about what’s buried beneath the surface. Kevin Cannon handles every aspect of the book—writing, art, inking, and lettering—with a singular, immersive hand, and his cover art captures the story’s haunting isolation.

As Barty and Stwalley search for Sztab's motive, Army Shanks shares memories of the orphanage with Molniya. Molniya attempts a mediumistic search for Wendy, which will only work if Wendy's dead. Richter slowly realizes that even though launch preparations are actually under way, RCAN has been defunct for years. Sztab's crew are almost ready to begin secretly extracting oil (the true purpose of their mission after all), but get no help from Sztab, despondent over the loss of Molniya and the death of his dreams of space.
